Karter Scientific Standard Microscope 22x22mm Reviews:
Very good product and excellent price with the ODR) ; use with Open Media Vault. Only complaint, the fan is a little noisy. A grip, complicated, and yet I am skilled in the art, and I have no gap in terms of NAS. Of course, the detection of the device on the network is no problem, but if I had just needed a storage device, I would have bought an external hard drive. The first concern is that it is necessary to download several applications : one for installation, one for access to files... at least, that's what we want you to believe, because in the end, everything can be done without these apps, the design is a little backlog. The second major concern that was raised to me was to be able to see the NAS from the menu "My recordings" from my Freebox Revolution (v6). Up to find that it was necessary to activate a mode "DLNA server" on the NAS and enable Multimedia on a shared folder... except that in doing that, of course, the NAS is detected by the Freebox, but it does not keep the hierarchy of the folders on the NAS, for example if you have sorted your movies in folders (for example Comedy, Action, etc), and all your movies will be displayed in predefined folders named "All videos", "Recently added", etc...Cheap Karter Scientific Standard Microscope 22x22mm:
My third big concern was that I wanted to remotely access the NAS from my Macbook, to know how to do this appear in the left column of the Finder as a shared item. Honestly, I spent close to a dozen time, I have scoured the forums, and it never wanted to work. Menus, network management, under coverage of user interface is nice, still not very explicit... and any choice of port is not possible. Therefore, when you enable remote access, the port 80 is used and is not editable : this means that anyone can type your IP in a browser and access your NAS if you have missed an episode in the phase of securing. In short, I walk out very disappointed, it's not worth a good Synology, master in the field.. small to large capacity 3 Tb but not simple to implement(fixed IP to make it fixed...) support is present but it should not be in a hurry! "Extra" product for its price, I wonder what the more expensive models in this series DS2xx may well bring in practice? ! I just ordered the 2nd today.Cheap Karter Scientific 211Z3:
It is effective to :-create a space and time machine for mac-create an auto-backup of the HD on the USB drive connected to the back (USB 3 or 2, 3 I get to have good transfer rates in the order of 60mb/S) -synchronize its cloud-GDrive (it is not compatible with iCloud unfortunately, no dedicated application...), -it stream DLNA to the speed of light, never seen anything as fast, it is simple to use, it could be a product of the Apple xD! -it heats up absolutely not (30 and 32°C for my 2 HD at max load for hours) with the fan inaudible in mode "medium". In short, too happy to be able to recycle my old HD (including different sizes) with high efficiency and at a low price :) 20/20. EDIT after several weeks of use of the 2 NAS ordered : 18/20 because 2 weaknesses (which are only a) => no possibility to install a server-mediacenter-type Kodi (XBMC) or PLEX (whereas it's OK on lots of other models in the range, but NOT on the one that has a particular processor). On my transfers : no worries, very very fast.Best Buy Karter Scientific 211Z3:
As much as a USB 3! On features : I've installed my own VPN server through which I can access my NAS from anywhere via the 3G from the phone! Very practical, it works. On the backup : very easy to tell the 2nd NAS to go for a backup on a external HD USB 3 connected to the rear of the 1st. You can schedule or do it on demand. Extra.. I am still discovering the app for the NAS. very complete, and the app of each server built-in are all well made and very about the particular company.. Top Tip! That's good :-) Bought with 2 disks WD NAS 2 Tb to replace my old synology DS111, it runs like a Swiss clock! This is the stuff almost pro for a price to be frankly honest. And the OS DSM makes the difference compared to the competition. The little trick quite useful, this is the part of the Cloud Station nickel to back up the docs to their computers in real-time! I valid and recommends that :-DSuper NAS, the features are all at the rendez-vous. Big community which provided good applications, as well as assistance. Buy without hesiter. Buy to do a storage security. So now I can look at the pictures on the tv without the need of my pc, which was the goal. One less star for the noise... there is the possibility theory to hook up a printer to print via our expensive smartphone, but it is theoretical. On Sale Karter Scientific 211Z3:
otherwise the system is slow, the updates are a little too frequent, and not reassuring, if a person who is not too technical goes your time to take care of this contraption.. Attention, the app is buggy, it is impossible to copy properly the data above. Netgear knows about the problem but some wait for 2 months to get a correction. just search readynas 104 drops out while copying on google to confirm my diresDu blow, for my part, I have a NAS that is not usable for 1 month. Netgear takes its users of the stable version for the beta testers... Synology outclasses all the other NAS through its system and this product represents that perfectly. A number of bays very important that leaves room for the creation of a very, very big storage space. Very good material, but not very simple to implement, it takes some knowledge to set up everything+purchase after you have been able to test a live demo on the site synology, then DSM on VMWare, product scalable and open. +different RAID configurable-(for the moment) not function in the interface to move from a RAID1 to a simple volume. -not possible to reduce a volume via the interface. -external power supply with connector fragile round 4 terminals (be careful of the connections upside-down!) +silent operation mode (quiet) -ventilation important (though very silent), not filter dust. -a lot of plastic, front plastic cover with 4 rubber. +good aestetic+DNLA, management of videos, photos, music, search cover art/description.Karter Scientific 211Z3 Reviews:
+Sharing SMB3+very good performance, transfer, copy+secure https, double authent, SMS alerts, email, reporting,... is perfectly Suitable for personal use simply as advanced; and SMES (many component that you can install to add new functionality: DNS, proxy, libray media, DLNA, FTPs, iSCSI, DICOM...). Having installed and used a professional NAS, I found that the WD EX4 is a very good report quality price for the particular or any small business. The configuration tool is simple, but quite effective. But I have found the iTunes server is quite complicated to implement. Possibility of setting up a slice off the NAS to save energy, but only one slice per day is possible. FTP server very powerful, but memory and processor capacity a fair bit. if several machines to "draw" together on the NAS. And a few minor flaws to me were annoyed. 1. I am installing with a single drive (WD Red 3tb) in anticipation of the delivery of the other 3 disks. According to the doc (and the pub), adding drives later is no problem. Yes, but with a single drive, the RAID is impossible. So, when I added the 3 disks and enabled the RAID 5, the NAS was purely and simply erased all the data I had already stored! Not very glorious. 2. RAID 5 consumes a lot of disk space. 3 TO 12 are required for the implementation of the RAID, or 25% of the total capacity. We have already seen NAS consume less! For the rest, there is little to say. The manufacturing and finish is impeccable. Easy grip also. Not tested the USB backup nor the publication of the NAS on the Internet that I personally find risky. easy to connect, configure, and use. the cloudstation is great to replace dropbox.
